What is AB-Edit?

AB-Edit is your go-to tool for editing text, and it's pretty user-friendly. It has two main parts that help you navigate: the Menu Window and the Editor Window. If you want to move these windows around, just click the Undock button in the title bar of the Editor Window. This makes it super easy to arrange your workspace!

Main Features of AB-Edit

The Menu Window is always there, whether you have a file open or not. It contains the AB-Edit Menu and some handy toolbars that give you quick access to all the important features. You’ll find lots of options that can make your editing smoother.

Managing Your Files with Tabs

Right below the title bar of the Editor Window, you'll see tabs for each file you're working on. Just click a tab to bring that file to the front. Want to rearrange them? No problem! Just drag and drop them into your preferred order.

Edit Text Easily

If you right-click inside the editor, you'll get a context menu with useful commands for text editing. For more details, check out the description of the AB-Edit Menu. It's got everything you need!

Bookmarks Made Simple

On the left side of your editor, there's a gray bar that shows any bookmarks you've set up. Right-clicking this bar gives you options to set or jump to bookmarks easily.

Selecting Text Efficiently

If you want to move or copy selected text, just hold down the CTRL key while dragging and dropping it where you want it! To select a block of text, hold down the ALT key while making your selection.
