There's a lot of work that goes into making music, and some of that work also applies to creating the album artworks, which are an integral part in communicating the atmosphere of a certain song before even playing it. Some people enjoy looking at those artworks, with some even being wallpaper material, and rightfully so.

For those who like their album arts, AlbumPaper is here to deliver. Connect the app to your Spotify or Last.fm account, and it'll automatically change your desktop wallpaper to the album art of the song you're currently listening to.

Setting the program up with Spotify involves a few extra steps, but it shouldn't take too long. You'll have to provide the Client ID and Client Secret credentials for your Spotify account, and you can get them by heading to the Spotify Developer dashboard. Create an app, give it a name and a description, then head to Edit Settings, and input http://localhost:8080/ under Redirect URLs.

After that, you'll have to go to Users and Access to add a new user. Specify a name, then input your account's email address, and click Add. You'll then be able to input the Client ID and Client Secret values into the app.

Upon setting up the program, listening to your favorite songs on Spotify will automatically change your desktop background to their album art. The process is automatic, and the backgrounds themselves are of a relatively high quality, exhibiting little compression artifacts. When you're done listening, your wallpaper will revert to the original one.

You can tweak your desired art size in the settings, and you can also elect to have foreground art in the background. Background blur can be introduced, which can help improve the aspect of lower resolution artwork.
