Basic Word Processor

Basic Word Processor is a user-friendly text processor that offers an easy method to compose rich text documents, personalize the content with custom colors and highlight specific words. It can be used to write down ideas, personal information, phone numbers or addresses.

The program offers an approachable interface that provides a small toolbar which packs all the handy functions and the word editor. It's recommended to have .NET Framework installed on the computer in order for the app to run.

To create a new note, you can start typing directly or open an existing document from the computer. The supported formats for both importing and saving are RFT and TXT. From the "File" menu, you can configure the printing settings, such as size (letter, A3, A4, envelope, sheet), the printer source, orientation type (portrait, landscape) and the page margins.

The app lets you apply basic formatting to personalize the text with custom font types, styles, colors and sizes, and it helps highlight specific words with red, blue, yellow or green tones. You can insert bullet lists, pictures in BMP, JPEG, JPG and GIF formats, date and time stamps, and signatures.

Other useful options that the app comes with are the spell check, virtual keyboard (QWERTY, QWERTZ, AZERTY) and numeric pad, handy for those who don't have the Numpad attached to their keyboard, as well as a text-to-speech option that reads the content out loud.

It would've been a plus if the utility came with a file history to view and reopen recently accessed drafts. You can use the search function to find and replace phrases with other ones. Unfortunately, Basic Word Processor doesn't offer the undo and redo functions in order to fix mistakes.

Taking everything into account, Basic Word Processor is a reliable tool created to provide an efficient method to write, edit and customize documents using formatting and highlighting tools. It also features a text-to-speech function, virtual keyboard and numeric pad.
