Although a pretty simple task overall, printing a document can end up taking a lot of time, especially when there are multiple files involved. To make this easier, specialized applications like Batch Printer and Scheduler come with features to automate the process without having to ever press the print button yourself.

Most of your effort consists of creating one or more tasks and choosing the files to print. All items are displayed in a table along with name, status, and file path, with a side panel for management of tasks, hot folders, as well as a lower section which allows you to choose the target printer and page specifications.

In terms of file support, the application provides the liberty of targeting nearly anything under formats like DOC, DOCX, DOT, XLS, XLSX, XLT, PPT, PPTX, HTM, HTML, ASP, SHTML, PHP, TXT, PDF, RTF, and more. You can create a task with multiple files regardless of their format.

Sooner or later you end up creating a task. This is done by selecting the files to include, and this can be done by adding more than just what’s displayed in the initial list. A name needs to be provided, as well as a date and time for when printing to start. You can disable the confirmation in case you’re away. The task can be set to repeat itself every day, hour, or custom amount of time.

The method mentioned above can take a little time and effort, but there’s a second, more comfortable method. Using the hot folders feature allows you to keep watch on a directory so that every modified or new file there gets instantly printed. You can set up extension filters, scan interval, and whether or not to delete files after print or move to a new location.

A different printer can be used in each task, but there’s also a default one you can use, be it physical or virtual. The application can use the original file page size and orientation, or you can configure them yourself.

Taking everything into account, Batch Printer and Scheduler is a nifty little tool which can save a lot of time when having to frequently print out multiple files. It supports a great array of formats, with the possibility to manually create print schedules, or leave the application to watch a folder and print anything which comes its way.
