Big Mouse Pointer is a rather suggestive name for an application that makes your cursor larger, and more colorful. Most Windows versions are capable of mouse customization by default, so why bother with Big Mouse? First, this program had its fair share of internet time, so much so that the UI will seem outdated and the cursor model will reveal its MS Paint point of origin. On the other hand, Big Mouse Pointer could also play a more gimmicky role like pranks or general fun.
Big Mouse Pointer comes ready-to-deploy right out of the box. When launched, the program will generate a system tray icon while also changing your cursor to a larger, red one. Unless you are happy with the default model looks, you should open the icon's context menu and access its toolbox.
The arrow's caller tops the list, so take care of that first if red is not your color. As for the size, there are a few options. However, much to the user's entertainment, the size choices are not displayed in real values, but in uncanny descriptions that give out how big the cursor will be. For example, the first size is called "Miniscule", even though it makes the arrow three times bigger. On the flip side, we have "Gigantic" and the joyful "Don't be Stupid!", which grows your pointer to a size that takes half the screen.
Big Mouse Pointer is an old application, that is not up for debate, and it's very gimmicky in nature, but there is maybe something to get out of it. If you have a hard day seeing the mouse arrow or simply wish to play a prank on someone, there are both good reasons to blow the dust off this museum piece.
