Cylon (Folders) started out as a cool Mac OS theme made by MJoseph15 just for his own use. But guess what? I thought it would be fun to create a version for Gnome! After getting the thumbs up from MJoseph15, I went ahead and made it happen.
Installing Cylon is super easy! First, you’ll need to download the tar.bz file. Once you've got that, find a blank spot on your desktop, right-click there, and select 'Change Background' from the menu that pops up. Next, head over to the 'Themes' section. Just drag the downloaded file from your desktop into this window. This action will install all the icons you need!
If you want to see your icons in root, there’s a simple command you can run in your shell:
sudo ln -s /home/your_name/.icons /root/.icons
This theme not only brings style to your desktop but also adds a personal touch that’s hard to beat. Whether you're working or just hanging out at home, having a nice-looking interface makes everything more enjoyable.
If you're ready to jazz up your Gnome setup with some slick icons and themes, give Cylon a try! It’s super user-friendly and really changes how your desktop feels.
