Encrypt PDF is a program created for the security of PDF users. With multiple encryption levels and passwords, it can secure any PDF file, all while offering certain permissions.
Encrypting your PDF files can prove to be a necessary measure. Using one of the two methods available, a 40-bit or a 128-bit RC4 encryption, the user can set a password and also give different permissions when, for example, printing or reading the files are an emergency. A nice addition to its basic encryption method, is the option of setting a Master Password which, by knowing it, the changing of permissions and passwords can be accomplished.
The User Password is quite handy when someone needs to read or print the document but, by only knowing that certain encrypted part, he or she will not be able to make any other changes within the PDF. The other password however (Master Password), is basically the most important one, the security code of the file’s owner. With it, everything can be changed on that document, from content to form fileds.
The application is easy to use, it doesn’t need Adobe Acrobat software to run and, with it, setting permissions to each and every PDF file (all at once) in your archive can be real easy. More so, with this type of application, printing or copying the document by someone else can be prevented.
In conclusion, Encrypt PDF is one of the available encryption methods for keeping your PDF files safe. In addition to its basic encryption method, the Master Password option is good for when someone else would need the document, allowing the person to print, copy, add or change the document for an emergency, depending on what the the owner set as permissions.
