Fling File Transfer is a Windows FTP client specialized in automatically uploading and transferring files and folders to websites.
It supports SSL connections, allows local file transfers across a local area network (LAN), and works as a service for automating the file transfer process upon a log-off session.
Fling File Transfer can be used for uploading and maintaining files on a website using FTP connections, backing up files between hard drives, over a network or Internet via FTP, and automating regular copying tasks of files to USB flash drives.
The GUI looks clean and intuitive, revealing a list with all monitored folders along with information about the remote and local destinations, and last update. A log panel placed at the bottom of the main window reveals details about all your actions and possible errors.
The application employs a wizard-like approach for helping you carry out backup tasks. This step-by-step mode is suitable especially for less experienced users as they are offered guidance throughout the entire configuration process.
Fling File Transfer is able to sync information by automatically detecting changes and lets you manage file transfers to multiple destinations. The program offers support for context-menu integration so you can manually upload the target folder. Plus, you can make the application automatically transfer files when a change is detected or at a preset time interval.
You are allowed to run the file transfer engine as a background service, open the utility at Windows startup, retry FTP connections up to 5 times on failure, keep logs, view pending uploads, show popup notifications upon errors and successful file transfers, as well as exclude folders based on a custom mask.
Fling File Transfer integrates several noteworthy features for helping you perform manual or automatic file transfer tasks via Windows Explorer, and can be handled by beginners and professionals alike.
The Business version becomes completely unusable after 14 days, while the other edition remains free for non-commercial use, with the paid features deactivated after the 14 days trial period.
