When it comes to important documents or information, security is one of the most important issues you need to consider.
While many services offer basic password protection, sometimes relying on more sophisticated methods can go a long way. You might need to consider turning to specialized software, such as Goz, that can help you encrypt your passwords in a convenient manner.
Note that .NET Framework is required for the application to run as intended.
Since it is a portable utility, this application does not require you to install it, nor does it create additional folders or modify Windows Registry entries. However, accessing it might be challenging for computer novices since it does not come with a user interface.
You can use this application by opening a command prompt, navigating to the program's destination and manually launching it by defining basic parameters.
It is possible to encrypt and decrypt passwords or short text fragments by relying on this application. You need to open a command prompt in the application's directory and execute the utility by using additional parameters.
For instance, encrypting a password can be achieved by including a “+” and the desired entry as the parameter. The application creates a file with your encrypted text in the source folder.
After a successful encryption, the application provides you with a key that you can use to access your locked content later. Unfortunately, you cannot access a previously secured content unless you own its corresponding encryption data file.
If you want to reveal your text entry, you just need to run the program and include a “-” and the provided decryption key as a launching parameter. It is also possible to run the utility without the “-” symbol, as the default action is decryption.
If you type a valid decryption code, the application automatically copies your original text to the clipboard, allowing you to use it wherever you want.
To sum it up, Goz is a lightweight application that allows you to encrypt and decrypt passwords or other short texts. However, note that it does not come with a user interface and you cannot unlock content unless you own its corresponding encryption document.
