Kubla Cubed


Kubla Cubed is a super easy-to-use app that helps you calculate and visualize earthworks like cut parameters or fill volumes. It’s perfect for checking out depths, heights, or flat areas of different terrains. Just load your input values, and let the software do its magic by creating a graphic representation for you!



Working with Terrain Points


This software makes it simple to work with preset terrain points maps. You can load these from various file types, including .XYZ coordinate storage files, .TXT documents, .DOC/.DOCX files, and even Excel spreadsheets. These files have axis coordinates that help define specific terrain areas like islands, hills, or pits.



Instant Calculations


Kubla Cubed can quickly calculate map coordinates in meters. It uses the X axis for East orientation and the Y axis for North. Plus, it instantly creates a preview of the terrain so you can easily identify what you're working with. The main interface shows you the terrain rendering as a plane, making it easier to analyze specific spots.



Selecting Areas


After the software renders the terrain from your points file, you can make selections to see details about certain areas. The selection tool lets you place reference points while creating polygonal shapes on the fly! You also have navigation buttons to zoom in or out and pan around up, down, left, or right.



Analyzing Cuts and Fills


You can apply a reference grid or use quick zoom tools to view platforms and extents. The Platforms analysis area on the right side shows cuts and fills volumes along with terrain levels and area specifics based on your X and Y values. On the left side of the screen, you'll find details about volume, plan area, and maximum depth/height of cuts or fills.



Visualizing Terrain Levels


The image imported from your terrain points is rendered using black, white, and grey shades based on terrain levels. Darker shades indicate higher elevations while lighter areas are closer to sea level. Area selections can highlight level differences or match shading in your terrain.
