Description
Multiplayer All Fours
Multiplayer All Fours is a super fun card game that’s easy to pick up. It’s played with four players and uses a standard 52-card deck.
How the Game Works
You team up with the player sitting across from you, making two teams in total. At the start of each hand, the dealer gives out six cards to each player. Then, they flip over one card to show which suit will be the trump for that round.
The Trump Suit Decision
The player to the right of the dealer gets to decide if they want to use that flipped card's suit as trump. If they say no, then it’s up to the dealer. The dealer can either keep this trump but give one point to the other team or choose a different trump suit.
Choosing a New Trump Suit
If they go for a new trump, they'll deal three more cards to everyone and flip another card. If it matches the previous suit, they'll keep dealing until they get a different suit or run out of cards!
Scoring Points While Dealing
As they reveal cards, points are given right away: 1 point for an Ace, 2 points for a 6, and 3 points for a Jack!
The Flow of Play
Once that's sorted, play starts with the player on the dealer's right. They’ll play their first card based on what was just revealed as trump. Turns go around in counter-clockwise order. If you have a trick suit card, you can play it or throw down a trump if you want! But if you don’t have any trick suits left? Just play whatever card you like.
Winning Tricks and Scoring Points
This game is different because players always have an option to play trumps! After everyone plays their card, whoever has played the highest-ranked trick suit (or highest trump) wins that trick and leads into the next round.
Ending Hands and Scoring Up
A hand finishes when all cards are played out. Then comes scoring time! You get points based on your trumps: 1 point for holding onto the highest-ranked trump; another point for having the lowest; plus extra points if your Jack gets captured by your own team (or by others!). It's all about who captures what!
The Winner Takes It All!
The game wraps up when one team hits 14 points. To prevent ties from dragging on forever, scoring happens in order — meaning even if both teams have close scores at 13 points each after one hand ends with some wins here and there, whoever scores high first wins!
