ScreenMemory

ScreenMemory is a cool app that helps you keep track of everything happening on your Mac’s desktop. You know how sometimes our memory can be a bit fuzzy? Well, this tool captures screenshots regularly, so you can look back and remember what you were doing or what you saw.

Capture Every Moment

Once you give the app permission to record your screen, it’s good to go! By default, it takes screenshots every minute, but if that's too long for you, feel free to change it to anything from one second to one hour. Just think of all those times you've needed to remember something specific!

Custom Settings Made Easy

If you're using the paid version, there are extra settings you can play around with. The initial setup is super simple. Just keep in mind that if you want to save your screen captures for longer than seven days, you'll need to adjust the storage settings.

Navigating the App

I had a little trouble finding some settings at first because the icon looked like a help button instead. It’s probably just a small bug since the right symbol shows up in the developer's screenshots. Once you’re in, navigating through days and frames is easy with the playback tool; each frame has its own timestamp.

Pro Features for Power Users

The Pro version allows more than just viewing one day or one screen. One of the coolest features is being able to search for text in your screenshots using OCR technology. This makes hunting down specific information much easier, especially if your captures are high-res!

A Good Choice for Many Users

The free version works well enough for some folks, but it does have its limits. A full license isn’t super cheap but it's a one-time purchase and should be worth it once they roll out new features like blacklisting certain apps and snoozing screen capture along with an improved timeline.

Final Thoughts on ScreenMemory

Overall, I’d definitely recommend ScreenMemory. It has an easy-to-use design that's not annoying at all. With a few added features down the line, it could really shine as a must-have tool when your memory just doesn't cut it!
