SpaceLauncher is a handy tool for Mac users. Even though macOS has Spotlight, which helps you find files and apps easily, it can be a bit slow when you want to launch something quickly. That’s where SpaceLauncher comes into play!
This app launcher is super efficient. You can open your favorite applications or files by just pressing a hotkey! It’s designed to help speed up your workflow, letting you launch folders and apps in under a second.
Once you start using SpaceLauncher on your Mac, it adds an icon to your status bar. This feature lets you set up hotkey-action pairs that work perfectly for your needs. Imagine the time you'll save!
When you hold down the Space key for more than a second, a helpful hint window pops up. This window shows you what actions are available based on the keys you've pressed. The most used actions will stand out, making it easier to learn them.
I did find some quirks during my tests. Sometimes, the usage frequency doesn't show up correctly in the Preferences window until you restart SpaceLauncher. But don’t worry; this doesn’t slow down its performance!
Also, there was an issue where typing too fast would mix up what I wrote, but that’s been fixed now! If you're not using SpaceLauncher all the time, there’s an option in Preferences to disable it from running in the background.
Overall, while there are still areas for improvement, SpaceLauncher is a solid app launcher and keystroke simulator that really helps save time.
