SubString

Every text editor comes with a “Search and replace” function which, evidently, had become quite common. A search and replace tool is also provided by SubString, a console-based application which allows you to find and replace a string in a text.

As mentioned before, working with SubString means you get to experiment via the command console, as no standard GUI is available. When learning about how everything works with SubString, you will be simply mesmerized.

In short, using SubString requires you to specify the original string, the string to look for and the replacement. Additional features and options are available as well.

By default, the search is not case sensitive, but you can configure SubString to take the case into account. An extended build information can be shown on program execution and return codes can be shown on screen as well.

By default, SubString searches for all the occurrences of the string to flow, but you can also specify this number. Othe than that, there are not so many settings and options to control. But, in the end, finding and replacing a word or string inside another string should not require so much input. Simple, clean and easy to use, these are the key attributes.
