Suicide Squad: Special Ops is a fast paced first person shooter game designed to promote the Suicide Squad Hollywood blockbuster.
Within the game universe, you get to play one of the three super villains that form your pack, and go around the city to collect health packs and other things necessary for your survival.
Your Suicide Squad: Special Ops team comprises three characters: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and El Diablo. When you start playing, you get to choose which one of them you want to be.
Take into account that each character comes with its own abilities: clubbing enemies with a baseball bat, setting them on fire, or taking them out from afar with a powerful rifle. Note that you get separate points for killings accomplished with the help of your ability.
To get you acquainted with the gameplay, Suicide Squad: Special Ops takes you through a tutorial level where you can also practice your special ability: you need to use special keys to activate them, which is not always easy.
Suicide Squad: Special Ops slightly resembles a tower defense game since all enemies come in waves: you need to reach certain parts of the map to trigger the wave, and you get to see your score after you manage to destroy all enemies.
Between waves, you get to change your character, and when you locate upgrade packs, you might even improve their skills. While exploring, you must also find health and ammunition kits that will take you through the next wave.
The point of the game is to survive for as long as you can, while also getting a good score that you can compare with your friends. The best part is that, if one of your characters dies, you get to continue with the remaining ones until there is no one standing.
Even though Suicide Squad: Special Ops is unmistakably developed primarily to promote the movie franchise, the game manages to bring to the table an entertaining experience.
Bottom line, mastering the special abilities of each character can prove to be challenging, and the overall experience might keep you hooked at least until the movie hype goes down.
