If there were to describe Windows 11 with one distinctive graphic characteristic, then that would have to be the rounded corners. Every few updates, Microsoft adds the rounded corner option yet to another element of the UI. If you are into customizing the looks and feel of Windows, then TaskbarRounder might be a tool you will enjoy experimenting with.

The app doesn’t boast an interface, so it’s basically a plain executable that you run to add and remove the rounded corners for the taskbar. According to the developer, the tool is designed to just do its job and then terminate, so you don’t have to worry about having yet another process running in the background and eating up your resources. To remove the rounded effect, you need to run the executable again.

It is important to note that the app solely has one function that it performs well. Sure, that doesn’t resolve some of the common issues with Windows 11 taskbar or user demands like ungrouping the icons, for instance. The rounded corners that can be added to the taskbar via this utility have a role of ensuring consistency in the looks of Windows 11, if you opted for this particular style.

In a recent release on the Dev channel, users claim that they noticed a new floating taskbar featuring rounded corners. Unfortunately, later on Brandon LeBlanc confirmed it was just a bug. Then again, this didn’t stop users from asking to make this floating taskbar a feature.
