Everything that’s running on your computer uses a little bit of CPU and RAM. Piling them up might just leave you with little available room to start new processes, and it’s always a good idea to keep an eye on consumption. With this in mind, Tiny SyS Bar helps you check all details inside a slim toolbar which cleverly blends with your desktop.

One particular advantage here is portability, saving you the time and effort required to go through a setup process. More than that, you can carry it on a thumb drive to have it active both on your work and home computers. It doesn’t make any changes to system registry entries, and even if you choose to run it with Windows, there’s no impact on overall performance or stability. Note that .NET Framework needs to be installed.

Once launched, it minimizes to the tray area, but this is mostly because there’s no actual window to work with. Instead, a sidebar is brought up on the desktop, attaching itself to the right edge of the screen. Truth be told, it doesn’t really mess up your visual style, with the bar itself being fully transparent, with info fields being the only visible elements.

The associated sidebar doesn’t stop you from interacting with your desktop as you regularly do. You don’t have any sort of control over the displayed details, with the application showing operating system type and version, screen resolution, uptime, number of running processes, available memory, network usage, and CPU usage in real-time.

Apart from the set of details shown on the desktop, it’s possible to access a built-in task manager. Unfortunately, its only purpose is to show running processes, with no possibility to terminate them or get more details. For more comfort, the settings menu offers the possibility to make the program run with Windows.

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Tiny SyS Bar isn’t really prepared as expected. It shows general system info, CPU, and memory usage in real-time, with a built-in process manager. However, there’s no control over the details to display, or the possibility to kill unresponsive processes.
