In the latest versions of Windows, you can easily enable the Settings that allow you to use the mouse via your keyboard. More precisely, you need the Make the mouse easier to use command from the Ease of Access Center and turn on the Mouse Keys check box. Once you do this, you can now employ the numeric keypad of your keyboard to move the mouse around.

TPMouse is a tiny tool that takes things one step further. In addition to moving the cursor via the keyboard’s home run, it includes other options that simplify the entire process.

The application doesn’t require installation or configuration, so simply launch to get started. The program also doesn’t include an interface, but rather a notification icon that sits silently in the System Tray to let you know whether the tool is active. At the same time, take note that you can continue using the mouse regularly without any impediment.

The app comes with two modes, namely Inertia and Grid, with the first one enabling a more precise control over the cursor. Both modes employ pretty much the same hotkeys and keys with the difference that activating Inertia mode can be via CapsLock and C, whereas Grid mode requires CapsLock and G. You will know when you are in Inertia mode as the cursor changes to a crosshair share, whereas Grid is a crosshair with a gray search border. Please check out the app’s home page for details on keys and what they do.

It is worth mentioning that the application works even if your keyboard doesn’t include a ThinkPad. It could be a life saver for users who lack the numeric keys on their keyboard or that particular part of the peripheral doesn’t work for various reasons. TPMouse can be a good addition for anyone using the PC and keyboard extensively.
