Sailing and vessel navigation is highly dependent on the weather and sea conditions, and therefore having a good knowledge and detailed information about each is of paramount importance.

Deriving parameters from the values of phenomena such as wind is even more important, and this is where Wind Calculator comes into play.

This application was designed specifically in order to offer users access to a tool that can help them compute and derive the true direction and speed of wind, as well as assess other parameters that are relevant to sea navigation from a vessel’s perspective.

The main working principle behind the app relies on users inputting the ship’s speed, as well as a corresponding heading, as well as the relative speed and bearing for the wind data. This will then allow the app to yield the corresponding set of parameters for the wind and sea state. These include the wind bearing, speed, rumb, force, as well as the sea state and waves’ height.

In addition to the aforementioned features, the app will also allow users to preview a visual representation of the ship’s corresponding direction, as well as the vector for the wind parameter.
