World Map Generator

There are situations in some people's lives where they have/want to create an imaginary world. This can happen when you are writing a fantasy book or designing a video game.

People who have specific plans in mind would generally like to design their world exactly as they want it. But if you just need a random creation to work with, you can use World Map Generator.

The name pretty much says it all. This program simply generates random maps for you.

Well, to be fair, it is not all random. You do have some settings to configure before the generation begins, but you are not actually able to do any designing by yourself.

When you open the program, you start with a random landmass already created. If you believe it looks good enough, you are free to just use that one.

If not, there are a few things you can change. The option that will immediately impact the map when modified is the Water Level. Depending on how you set it, you will increase or decrease the landmass.

However, the program doesn't just generate the land and water. You can also populate the map. Before doing so, you can choose one of three algorithms through which you want people to spread.

Also, you have the ability to select how many civilizations you want on the map. The number can range from 1 to 13. When you are done, just click the "Generate Civs" button and watch your map get populated.

World Map Generator also has a download button that should theoretically save the generated worlds, but I was not able to find them anywhere on the PC. Not the biggest downside, but a flaw nonetheless.

Overall, the program is fairly interesting. It does not offer a plethora of options but it is easy to use and can be useful in certain situations, albeit not to many people.
