pearLabelizer - How to use it |
There are many ways you could use pearLabelizer:
Entering and formatting text:
You have different choices. For example, you can define text in a single place and print that global text on multiple labels by just selecting them or you can specify individual texts for each label. Of course you can also mix both approaches.
To specify and format a global text you might need to view the GlobalText drawer of the main window first. Just select 'Toggle GlobalText' from the Window-Menu if it's not visible yet. To hide it again, simply choose the menu command again. Once its up you can enter and format the text you like. Then just select the labels you want it to be printed on, and that's it. You are ready to print.
To define an individual text for a specific label just double-click on that label. A label inspector will appear, where you can enter and format the text.
You can also place such an individual text directly via drag & drop from your favorite text-edito. Don't worry if not the complete text is shown on the label, since the text shown is not scaled in anyway - as opposed to the labels. If you want to revise that text, just doubleclick on that label to bring up the label inspector.
Selecting labels to print on:
You can select a single label by clicking onto it. If you want to select multiple labels, you can just click and drag, command- or shift-click on the specific labels. The behavior should be almost like in the Finder.
You can also select or deselect all labels at once. Just choose the appropriate menu command from the Edit-Menu or command-shift-click on a label.
Printing addresses from the MacOS X Address Book:
pearLabelizer also allows you to print addresses from the built in Address Book of MacOS X. Simply drag & drop contacts from the Address Book onto the specific labels.
In the AddressBook-Section of the pearLabelizer-Preferences you can define, which fields of the contact-information should be printed. You can also format and reorder the keywords to get a specific look of an address. You would like to have multiple sets of such templates? Well, no problem, pearLabelizer can do that exact thing - you can add, modify and delete address text templates as you like, very much the same way as you can do it with the label sheet definitions.
You can even drop a group from the Address Book to pearLabelizer. This will bring up the Address Book Printing - Drawer
(like the Address Book Printing... command from the File-Menu does) with the dropped group already selected. Just choose
on which labels to print on and click, well guess what, the Print button.
