Exporting

Once you’ve finished recording your usability test, you can export the session as a Quicktime video of the screen activity and iSight recording. You can also run a preview of the session if you'd like a quick look rather than a full export.

To preview the session, simply click the ‘Preview’ button on your selected session.

In your list of test sessions, select the particular session you wish to export and then click the ‘Export’ button. You will now be shown a list of export options.

You can now choose to export the entire session, a specific task in the session, or the highlights in the session.

You can also choose which quality you’d like to export at. Higher quality exports will have a larger file size but show more detail.

You can also choose what size you’d like to export at, ranging from 100% to 25%.

Once you’ve chosen your export setting, click ‘Continue’. You will now see the ‘Save As’ option, choose the name you’d like for your exported file and where you would like to save the file before clicking ‘Export’.

You can also batch export sessions from one project. To do this, highlight the sessions you want to export in the session list, and a new export button will appear below the list. On clicking this ‘Export these [x] sessions’ button you can choose whether to export full versions of the selected sessions, just the highlights, or a specific task number from the selected sessions.

Silverback will now export your session. This may take some time, especially if you have recorded a long session or are exporting a number of sessions. Please make sure you leave plenty of time for exporting. Don't begin an export if your next session is due to start soon.

Once exported, you will be able to playback your session.
