After dropping images into the drop zone you will be prompted to name your gallery, you can change this name later if you want to via the Options palette. You can also specify whether InstantGallery should keep copies of your original images for this gallery. This option can only be specified at this stage and can not be changed later.
The second tab, "Existing Galleries", lets you open and modify galleries you have previously created and saved. Galleries can be opened by double clicking their item in the table or by selecting an item and choosing Open from the File menu. Galleries may also be deleted from this screen when the 'Delete Gallery' item is selected from the File menu. You can return to this screen at any time by selecting 'Open Gallery' from the File menu. If you have a gallery open you will be prompted to save any changes.
Customising Galleries
Upon creating a new gallery or opening an existing one you are presented with the Preview window. This gives you a live preview of how your gallery will look in a web browser. You can customise all aspects of your gallery from here.
On the left of the window is a source list containing two items that let you jump to your gallery's index page and one that takes you to the gallery's search page. Each image in your gallery is also listed, and clicking any of these items takes you to the respective image's page. You can quickly add more images to your gallery by dragging supported image files into the source list from the Finder or iPhoto.
Beneath the gallery preview is a toolbar which lets you make changes to your gallery and the images within it. The two items on the left side, 'Edit Details' and 'Rotate' are only available when a specific image is being viewed.
In the status bar area at the bottom of the window there are buttons for adding and removing images from your gallery and a gear button that lets you perform sorting operations on the images (sort by name, date, reverse order etc.). The total images in the gallery is also displayed along with the total disk space used by the gallery.
