Saving Email in Let.ter

---

Most emails are only sent to one person, but there’s plenty of messages you have to type often to different people — marketing emails, say, or a quick contact message. Or, you might want to compose part of an email now, and then come back to it later. And, there’s many of your more thoughtful emails that you might like to keep around to remember. For those and more, Let.ter lets you save emails in a plaintext document so you can easily revisit and resend them anytime.

Just tap CMD+S, add a name, and save the email where you’d like. It’ll be saved in a .letter file that’s actually a plain text file with your Markdown-formatted email at the top, and your email title and recipients at the bottom. You can then open .letter files in Let.ter anytime, or open them manually in any plain text app if you’d like. And, once you’ve saved an email, you’ll be able to revert to previous versions with Time Machine if you ever need.

Note: Let.ter does not save draft emails to your email server, so you’ll need to save them to your Mac to finish later if you can’t finish an email.
