Description

1976 Standard Atmosphere

1976 Standard Atmosphere is a cool tool that helps you calculate different physical parameters just by entering the altitude. It's built in Java, so it works on various operating systems. Whether you're a scientist, a teacher, or just someone curious about physics, this software can help you out!

Calculate Parameters with Ease

You can enter your altitude above mean sea level—marked with a lower case letter “h”—and watch as all the other parameters get calculated automatically! It’s like magic but with math.

What Can It Calculate?

The program can show you temperature at the altitude you choose using some fancy math algorithms. Plus, it calculates important stuff like true airspeed, dynamic pressure, total temperature, and density ratio. If you're into numbers and data, this part is super handy!

More Calculations at Your Fingertips

You can also find out static density at any altitude along with speed of sound, equivalent airspeed, total density, dynamic viscosity coefficient, and pressure ratio—all in an instant!

Additional Variables to Explore

If that's not enough for you, there are even more variables! You can check static pressure at your chosen altitude or calculate the Mach number (that's the local true airspeed compared to speed of sound), calibrated airspeed, total pressure temperature ratio, and Reynolds number.

Manual Input Options

If you want to play around with the numbers yourself, 1976 Standard Atmosphere lets you do that too! Just tick the ‘Manually Input’ box and enter your preferred value before letting the program do its thing. Plus, you can save your results as files on your computer for later use.

Select Your Measurement System

This software makes sure you're comfortable by letting you choose your measurement system. You can measure lengths in either metric or imperial units. For temperatures? You can pick from Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin or Rankine degrees! And don’t worry about pressure; it offers options like Newtons per square centimeter or atmospheric units.
