Description

AutoLaTeX

AutoLaTeX is a free and open-source software made just for those of you looking to automate your LaTeX compilation on GNU/Linux systems. Pretty cool, right?

What Does AutoLaTeX Do?

With AutoLaTeX, you don't have to worry about complex setups. It mainly works with files that contain variable definitions inside a Makefile. This handy tool lets users preview documents and even create PDF files without breaking a sweat!

Keep Track of Your Files

This software is smart! It keeps tabs on the files you've changed and helps you run different programs easily. Some tools it supports include latex, xelatex, pdflatex, lualatex, biber, bibtex, makeindex, and dvips.

Automatic File Conversions

Need to convert files? No problem! AutoLaTeX can automatically change formats from ASTA, DIA, DOT, FIG, GXL, ODG, PLOT, SVG, XMI into PS/PDF/PNG. Plus it can handle code from C/C++, Java, Matlab, ML, Perl, Python, Ruby—basically any language you throw at it—into TeX format.

User-Friendly Interface

The graphical user interface (GUI) is super easy to navigate. You can quickly set options like your main TeX file or choose if you want to generate images automatically. Want to pick where the software looks for files? Easy peasy!

Customization Options

You also get to decide whether or not to launch a viewer after compiling your document. Set your favorite program as the default viewer or specify which files need cleaning up.

Built with Love for Linux Users

This nifty tool is built in Perl and uses the GTK+ GUI toolkit for its interface. For those who use Ubuntu or Debian-based systems, it's available as a dual-arch DEB file.

Optimize for Your System

If you're someone who likes things customized just right for your system and hardware setup—don’t worry! You can always grab the source tarball that's compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.
