Axon
\n
Axon is a super handy virtual PBX software that helps you manage calls at your business or call center. It’s really easy to use and can make your communication smoother.
\n
Key Features of Axon
\n
Here are some cool things Axon can do:
\n
\n - Manage all your phone calls within the business.
\n - Routes calls digitally over your computer network or wireless network.
\n - You can have an unlimited number of extensions or external lines (only in Windows Plus Edition and Linux version).
\n - Supports all the standard PBX features like call transfer, hold, and record.
\n - Includes a call queue sequencer with voice prompts and on-hold messages player (check out the IMS On-Hold Messages Player).
\n - Uses open SIP standard for signaling so it works with many SIP-compatible phones and devices.
\n - Can handle video calls (H263, H261) for Express Talk Softphone or USB and IP Video Phones.
\n - Works with VoIP extensions that plug right into the LAN (like Grandstream, Sipura, etc.).
\n - You can use computer-based softphones (like Express Talk Softphone) to make calls directly from your PC.
\n - Also works with USB Phones connected to computers.
\n - Links directly to VoIP services for cheaper external calls. Check out the Recommended VoIP Gateways for more info!
\n - If you don't have VoIP services, you can link to multiple external analogue PSTN lines using Carousel Virtual FXO or a single line FXO hardware adapter.
\n - Supports international standards like Session Initiation Protocol for VoIP (RFC 2543 and RFC 3261).
\n - Sends audio as higher priority packets so your regular data won’t mess up voice transmission.
\n - Offers MD5 security authentication for added safety.
\n - You can link directly to the VRS Call Recording System if you need to record calls.
\n - The automatic \"one-click\" installer sets up the PBX software in just minutes—no complicated setup needed!
\n - Add extensions easily via a web-like control panel through your internet browser. This means you can do it remotely!
\n
\n
Requirements
\n
Your setup needs:
\n
\n- A Computer or Server running:
\n- - Windows 95/NT4/98/2000/Me/XP/2003/Vista
\ n - - Linux GTK 2.08 or later
\ n - - Pentium 500MHz or above with at least 16MB RAM (32MB for 2000/XP)
\ n - - Any IP network connection
\ n - - Broadband Internet connection for external VoIP lines
\ n
Your Extensions
\ n
You’ll need SIP Standard VoIP support (RFC 2543 or RFC 3261) which must support symmetric UDP signaling and audio with reINVITEs. Most extensions are either VoIP phones, computer-based softphones, or hybrid setups that mix softphones with USB phones. Before buying any VoIP phones, we suggest trying out the Express Talk Softphone first!
