Description
Bareos
Bareos (which stands for Backup Archiving REcovery Open Sourced) is a free and open-source tool made from the backup project found on bacula.org. It works on nearly all major Linux distributions and can also be used on Microsoft Windows.
Easy Installation and Control
Installing Bareos is a breeze! Once it's set up, it runs as a system service. You can easily manage it using the command-line interface, which is super handy. If you're curious about how it looks in action, check out the screenshot for more details.
Ready-to-Use Appliance
Bareos isn’t just software; it also comes as an appliance. This means you get the latest version straight from nightly builds along with a virtual tape library called mhvtl. Plus, everything is ready to go with installations like bat, webacula, and bacula-web already set up. It even has a preconfigured disk-to-disk-to-tape setup!
Available Formats
You can grab the appliance in several formats: USB and HDD images, ISO images, Preload ISO, OVF (Open Virtualization Format), VMware images, VirtualBox images, KVM images, Virtual Hard Disk options, Xen guest images, and even OpenStack images (KVM). So no matter what your setup looks like, there's something that fits!
