Description

BasKet

BasKet is a really cool app where you can drag and drop, add, or paste all sorts of stuff like text, URLs, images, and more! It's super flexible because you can edit, copy, and move these objects around however you want. It’s like having your own little workspace to organize everything!

Why Use BasKet?

With BasKet, you can keep all your important information in one spot. This means your notes and data are always at your fingertips! Originally designed as a clone for KDE's Drop Drawers, it has grown into a powerful tool that rivals apps like EverNote or OneNote.

A Tool Under Development

The best part? BasKet is still being improved! Even though it’s already super useful, it promises to bring even more amazing features in the future. So stay tuned!

Key Features of BasKet

  • Take notes easily

  • Keep data on hand for quick access

  • Collect various types of data in one place

  • Tidy up your desktop area

  • Create and manage TODO lists effortlessly

  • Share your ideas with others

  • Use stacks for better organization

  • Enhance how you use the clipboard

  • A user-friendly application that stays out of the way while you work!

How to Install BasKet from Source

If you're feeling adventurous, BasKet comes with a handy script that guides you through installing it from source. Just extract the basket archive and right-click on the file in Konqueror to choose "Extract Here".

Add some fun by opening the new folder and hitting F4 to open a terminal window there. Type in ./installer, and voilà! The assistant will take care of everything for you—including restarting BasKet when it's done.

No Worries if It Doesn't Work Right Away!

If installation hits a snag or some libraries are missing, make sure to install those *-dev or *-devel packages from your distribution—they contain essential library sources needed for compiling.

Simpler Installation via Distribution Package

If you've got BasKet as a package for your distribution, just open it up, enter your root password, and boom—it's ready to go in your KMenu!

Your First Steps with BasKet!

You can launch BasKet by using the command basket (like in Run command or console). If you didn’t install it yet, just run ./basket . This way it'll be ready right away—though keep in mind it won’t restart automatically next time KDE boots up.

What's New?

This latest release is all about speed! Expect things like faster loading times when filtering baskets and snappy text editing without lagging. Plus some nifty new features like enhanced link detection in text notes! But hey—development has stopped here; they could really
