What is Bifrost FOR LINUX?

Bifrost

Bifrost is a cool firewall management interface for iptables, basically a user-friendly GUI. It's designed by taking some great ideas from Checkpoint and Watchguard firewall management systems. We looked at how Checkpoint organizes things like source, destination, action, and logging. Plus, we manage incoming and outgoing traffic just like Watchguard and PIX Firewalls do.

System Requirements for Bifrost

Requirements:

  • iptables >= v1.2.3

  • iproute2

  • Apache

  • perl

What's New in Bifrost?

What's New in This Release:

  • This is a minor release update.

  • You can now enable routing on the same interface! That means you can allow traffic to enter and exit through the same spot. This type of traffic counts as Outgoing.

  • If you want to set this up, just change the parameter $RoutSelf in fw.cgi to 1; so it looks like this: $RoutSelf=1;
