Binaural Beat Generator is a free and easy-to-use binaural beat generator created by Thomas Glendinning. It is developed using SonicBirth 1.3.0 and is available as both an AU and VST plugin.
When using the Binaural Beat Generator, two signals are generated - a left signal and a right signal. These signals are both sine waves, with the Binaural Gap representing the difference in frequency between the two waves.
The Binaural Beat Generator operates by adding the frequency of the Binaural Gap to the right sine wave. For instance, if an A4 (440Hz) is played and the Binaural Gap is 5Hz, the left sine wave will be 440Hz and the right sine wave will be 445Hz.
The brain interprets this as a pulsing sound occurring at a rate equal to the Binaural Gap. These pulses are believed to have an impact on the brain when heard through stereo headphones.
The plugin includes a chart that correlates the Binaural Gaps to their respective brainwave frequencies (delta, theta, alpha, beta) and their effects. When the gap is 0, a normal sine wave is generated as both the left and right sine waves have the same frequency.
