BlackWord is a handy little text editor that you might want to check out after installing Windows. Instead of sticking with the default options, this software is perfect if you're looking for something simple and effective. One of the coolest things about BlackWord is that it doesn’t need an installer. This means you can just pop it onto a thumb drive along with your text files! You can take your work wherever you go. Just remember that the computer you’re using needs to have .NET Framework installed so everything runs smoothly.

User-Friendly Interface

The main window features a dark theme, which is pretty sleek but still familiar. You’ll find plenty of space for typing, along with a toolbar for managing files and customizing your text. There's also a status bar showing some useful info and options for how your pages are arranged.

Text Customization Options

You can really make your text stand out in BlackWord! You have options to change the type, style, color, and size of what you write. Plus, you can add effects like bold, italic, underline, or strikethrough. Want to insert pictures? You can do that too! Just keep in mind that images can't wrap behind the text easily, so positioning them might take a bit of effort.

Saving Your Work

Now, saving or loading documents has its quirks. BlackWord only supports its own BW file format when importing files. But don’t worry! When exporting your work, you can save as DOC or BW formats. It’s good to have some options!

A Few Drawbacks

All in all, BlackWord gets most things right when it comes to writing features like alignment and customization. However, it does lack support for common formats like TXT or RTF which could make things tricky if you're used to those types of files.
