When you open it up, you’ll see a clean interface that’s divided into two main areas: your working space and the panels for functions and chapters.

File Formats and Saving Options

This app supports its own file format (BW), but don’t worry—you can also save your project as a plain text book. What’s cool is that all your chapters can either be combined into one document or saved as separate files. This gives you flexibility in how you organize your work!

Text Input Features

The way to get text into Bookwrite is pretty simple. You can type out your ideas manually or copy and paste content from other sources. You can even tweak the look of your text by changing the font type, color, and size. However, keep in mind that right now there isn’t an option to wrap text around the window or align it in specific ways.

Missing Features

When we compare Bookwrite to other book editors, we notice some missing features. For instance, it doesn’t let you insert images which could help describe your plot better. Plus, having tools for character development would really help structure your story.

Organizing Your Work

It would’ve been great if Bookwrite allowed inserting sub-nodes within chapters for better organization—like creating a tree system for your book’s layout! Also, being able to save projects as e-books or PDF files would be a nice touch.
