What is Boycott Adv./SDL FOR LINUX?

Boycott Advance

Boycott Advance is a cool emulator for the Gameboy Advance that works using SDL. What’s great about this software is that it’s built on the BA core, but with a twist! Instead of using DirectX libraries, it uses the Simple Direct Media Library. This means you can run it on lots of different platforms while still enjoying all the awesome features of the BA core.

Easy to Use Across Platforms

One thing to note is that Boycott Advance/SDL doesn’t come with a GUI like the original BA does—well, except for its BeOS version. If you’re not a big fan of command line tools, don’t worry! There are several frontends available for you to choose from in the download section.

What’s New in This Release?

Here’s what’s fresh:

  • Completely in sync with BoyCott Advance v0.2.8;

  • The new sdlemu library has been added;

  • The sdl-core has been fully rewritten to use this new sdlemu library;

  • A bunch of bug fixes and code improvements (it runs smoother now);

  • You’ve got many filter options—19 different SDL filters!

  • Optimized OpenGL and SDL rendering options;

  • Plus, there are tons of changes that are too many to list!
