Bugtrack

Bugtrack is a cool web-based bug tracking system built using Perl and DBI. It's super handy for keeping track of bugs in your projects!

Requirements to Get Started

Requirements:

• You need to have the DBI/DBD, CGI, and Mail::Sendmail modules installed in your Perl distribution (you can find them on cpan.org).

Installation Steps

1. First, install Bugtrack into your cgi-bin directory.
\n
2. Create an empty database for it.
\n
3. Next, copy conf.pm.template to conf.pm. Make sure to set up the localization, database DSN, username, password, CVS settings, sendmail parameters, and images URL.
\n
4. Navigating over to the tools directory? Great! Run setup.pl.
\n
5. You’ll need to copy all files from the images folder to the directory listed by your image URL in the configuration file.
\n
6. Finally, just call the bt.pl script from your web browser. Easy peasy!
\n

The default username is "admin" and guess what? The default password is also "admin". So let's get you logged in!

Add Users and Projects

1. Log in as admin and click on the "Users" link.
\n
2. Add users by clicking on the "Add" link.
\n
3. Select the "Projects" link next.
\n
4. Create a project by hitting that "Add" link and set user privileges accordingly.
\n
5. Edit project parameters after creating one by clicking its "Edit" link. Then modify parameter lists as needed!
\n
6. A quick tip: make sure you log out then back in again before you start creating bugs!
