What is byacc FOR LINUX?

byacc FOR LINUX

Berkeley Yacc is a super handy LALR(1) parser generator. It’s been designed to work pretty well with AT&T Yacc, which is great news if you’re familiar with that. You can use Berkeley Yacc with any input that sticks to the AT&T Yacc guidelines. Just a heads up though, if you're trying to use some undocumented features from AT&T Yacc, it might not fly.

Public Domain Features

One cool thing about Berkeley Yacc is that it’s in the public domain! That means you can share it around without any fuss. The data structures and algorithms are either public knowledge or created by the author. So feel free to pass on the source or binary forms of Berkeley Yacc, whether you want to keep it as is or tweak it a bit.

No Warranty and Usage

Now, just so you know, Berkeley Yacc comes without any warranty at all. There might be some bugs in the code—it's just part of the deal. Neither the author nor anyone involved takes any responsibility for what happens when you use it.

Distribution Rights

If you decide to distribute Berkeley Yacc, you're totally allowed! You can charge whatever amount people are willing to pay for it too. And if you create programs using Berkeley Yacc, those can be shared freely as well!
