C to C++

C to C++ is a handy Python script that helps you convert your C code into C++ code. If you've been working with both languages, you probably know how important it is to get the syntax right. This tool makes that transition easier!

How It Works

The main part of this software is called ctocpp.py. This program handles all the steps needed for converting from C to C++. When you're ready, just run the ctocpp script and pass it your code along with any options you want. Easy peasy!

Useful Scripts Included

This package comes with some extra scripts that can be really helpful:

• mover.py: Changes the location of a project.


• search.py: Helps perform searches and replacements in your code.


• mkheader.py: Corrects header files to keep everything tidy.

A Note on Usage

Please note that while this tool is great for converting your code, GNU doesn't specifically recommend switching from C to C++. In fact, many of these included tools are useful for C programmers even if they don’t want to make a switch.

Getting Started

If you want to set things up, just type these commands in your terminal:

./configure

    ./setup

    mkdoc      ...this will generate HTML and info manuals.
