Citations is a handy little app that helps you manage your bibliographies. You might not think about organizing references every day unless you're a student or researcher, but this software makes it super easy. It’s designed for the GNOME environment, but don't worry! You can install it on any Linux distribution that supports Flatpak or Flathub.
At its core, Citations is all about keeping things straightforward. The user interface is clean and efficient with just two main sections. On the left panel, you can scroll through all your articles, while the right panel lets you edit details easily.
In the editing area, you can set up everything from citation type and key to author names, titles, year of publication, and DOI. There's also room to add other details like journal name, volume number, pages, month, and more! Plus, there’s an option to write a summary of your citation if you want to include that.
You can change how your citations look too! Whether you want them in plain text, Markdown, or LaTeX format—it’s all possible. And if you're working with PDFs? No problem at all; just add those into the mix!
The goal of Citations isn't to wow you with flashy features but rather to keep it simple and distraction-free. If you're juggling a lot of bibliographies for projects or assignments and don’t mind adding one more tool to your setup, this app is worth checking out.
This application is not only pleasing to look at but also super easy to use. It's light on system resources while giving you a well-structured way to organize tons of bibliographies along with their details and formats. So why not give Citations a try?
