CloneFinder is a handy tool for designers, photographers, and content creators who deal with tons of files every day. If you’re like most people, you probably handle dozens or even hundreds of files regularly. It’s super easy to lose track and end up with lots of duplicates taking up your valuable storage space.

Why Use CloneFinder?

This lightweight utility lets you quickly scan your folders to find those pesky duplicate files. Sure, the interface might look a bit rough around the edges, but it’s pretty user-friendly! You won’t have any trouble figuring it out.

Getting Started

To kick things off, just choose the folder you want to scan. The cool thing is that CloneFinder remembers how you set up the window size for next time. If you ever want to reset it back to its original size, just head over to the Tools menu and click on ‘Reset Default Sizes’.

Limitations to Keep in Mind

One thing to note is that you can only add one source folder at a time. This could be a bit annoying if you're working with multiple folders. A good workaround is to move all those folders into one partition so you can scan them all at once!

Your Scan Results

Once the scanning is done, CloneFinder will show you a neat table filled with results. You’ll see details like file paths, names, lengths, last modified dates, and hash values. This info can help you decide which duplicates to keep and which ones to get rid of.

No File Management Options

A little heads-up: while CloneFinder does a great job of finding duplicates, it doesn’t offer any direct management options for them. You’ll have to go through each file manually by following the paths provided in the results.
