Description
ComLog
ComLog is a simple and user-friendly utility for Windows that helps you track your online time. It does this by keeping an eye on activity happening on a COM port. Just to note, this program only works with Windows 9x/ME.
What Does ComLog Do?
This handy little program logs your 'online-time' by monitoring a specific COM port for modem connection signals. Basically, it knows when you’re connected and starts keeping track of the time!
Setting Up ComLog
To make sure ComLog runs every time you start up your computer, place the program (or a shortcut to it) in your 'Startup' folder. This way, it automatically launches as soon as you boot up Windows. Once it's running, it’ll detect your connection and log the time without you having to lift a finger.
Selecting Your COM Port
A little tip: ensure you have picked the right COM port to monitor! If not, ComLog might not work properly. The 'Activate On' option lets you choose which modem signal should trigger the logging process.
Your Default Setting
The default setting is DCD (Data Carrier Detect). Every session's total time gets added together and saved each time you shut down either ComLog or Windows. Plus, you can set it to auto-reset the total time every day, month, or year! If you'd rather do it yourself, there's an option for that too.
