Ctpp

Ctpp is a cool open-source command-line tool created in C. It’s designed to give you Object Oriented (OO) features for C, plus a C99-compatible preprocessor for the ctalk language. How neat is that?

Why Use Ctpp?

This software works great with the GNU cpp application and comes with some awesome C extensions! For example, it can expand macros in error and warning messages. It also has built-in symbol definitions for various command-line options, and you can even save expanded macros to files!

What Can You Do with Ctalk?

Ctalk is super versatile! You can use it for network projects, GUI (Graphical User Interface) applications, systems programs, client/server setups, or even traditional OO simulations. If you need the preprocessor on its own, you can download that separately too.

How to Install Ctpp

If you're ready to get started with Ctpp on your GNU/Linux system, here's what you need to do:

1. First off, download the latest version of Ctpp from Softpas or its official website (check out the link at the end of this article).


2. Save it wherever you like.


3. Next up, extract the files using an archive manager.


4. Open your terminal emulator app.

In your Terminal app, navigate to where you extracted those files by using the ‘cd’ command (like this: cd /home/softpedia/ctalk-0.0.55). After that, run ‘./configure --help’ to see all the options for optimizing Ctpp for your system.

Compiling and Installing

Once you've got everything set up correctly, run ‘make’ to compile Ctpp. This will create a binary executable that’s easy to install across your system by running ‘sudo make install’ as a privileged user or just ‘make install’ as root.
