DDistrox is a nifty little tool that's free and open source! It’s designed to help you grab your favorite GNU/Linux operating systems without the hassle of hunting them down online. Written in UNIX Shell, it makes downloading super easy.
This software is built using Bash, so it doesn’t take up much space on your hard drive. Plus, it's really fast and reliable! If you're someone who likes to tinker with things, you can even modify DDistrox to add support for more distributions.
Right now, DDistrox can download a variety of popular GNU/Linux distributions like:
The great news? More distributions will be added in future updates!
If you’re ready to dive in, you can get the latest version of DDistrox from Softpedia’s website here!. Just save the file somewhere in your Home directory and unzip it.
Once you've unpacked the folder, double-click on ‘ddistrox.sh’ to launch the app. You’ll need to agree to its open-source license first. After that, you'll see a main menu where you can start downloading or check out some documentation (for now, only the download option works).
The next screen will show a list of GNU/Linux operating systems available for download. Choose the one you want and hit OK to see a screenshot along with more details about that distribution. When you're ready, just click the “Download” button!
The application is currently available only in Spanish. It works on both 32-bit and 64-bit computers but keep in mind that it seems like development has slowed down for now.
Go to the Softpas website, press the 'Downloads' button, and pick the app you want to download and install—easy and fast!
