DnsEye is a great tool that helps you keep an eye on network traffic, especially those DNS (Domain Name System) packets. It’s super easy to use and can run a reverse lookup to show you the domain names behind the connections.
The design of DnsEye is simple and user-friendly. You don’t need to be an expert to navigate it! The buttons for starting and stopping the monitoring process are right at the top, so you can jump right in without any fuss.
Once you start monitoring, all the info about DNS names and when they popped up will show up in the lower part of the app window. You’ll see complete date and time stamps, which is pretty handy!
This tool automatically finds your local interface, meaning you won’t have to mess around with settings much. Just hit start or stop when you want to monitor your traffic.
As your list of DNS names grows, you can easily open these links in your default web browser. Plus, if you want to keep a record, DnsEye lets you save this info into a plain text file.
This program makes it super simple to see what websites you've visited and which servers were contacted during your browsing sessions. It’s all about getting that insight without any hassle!
Now, just a heads up: we found that DnsEye may throw an error message when starting unless it's run with elevated privileges. So, it’s best to run it as an administrator from the get-go.
The easiest way to avoid issues is by installing DnsEye with admin rights. If you've already installed it but forgot that step, don't worry! You can change the privilege level in compatibility settings afterward.
DnsEye really shines in providing a clear view of domains contacted while you're browsing online. For anyone looking for straightforward DNS monitoring software, download DnsEye here!
