What is the Finite Element Method?


The Finite Element Method is basically a smart way to tackle different issues by using several equations that help to approximate more complex ones. With FEMM, you can put this method into action for both magnetics and electrostatics!



How Does FEMM Work?


To start solving your problem, all you have to do is define the parameters in a CAD-like application. Then, pick one of the available solvers to find your answer. The main tool in this package is called FEMM itself. It helps you create your design and access those solvers.



User-Friendly Interface


The interface is super user-friendly! You can easily add objects, symbols, and materials to outline your problem. Plus, if you've got layouts from DXF or other metadata files, you can import those too! Once you've set everything up, just head over to the Analysis menu where you can call one of the solvers. After it finishes running, you'll get to see the results right there! You even have options for generating plots or integrating solutions.
