Description

FileCure

FileCure is a handy software application designed to help you scan your computer and find out what file formats your system supports. It also suggests programs to open those files, which is pretty cool!

Easy-to-Use Interface

When you open FileCure, you'll notice a multi-tabbed interface. This makes it super easy to access important features for managing file formats. You can quickly check out options like Scan, Manage, Monitor, Ignore, History, and Schedule.

Scan Your Files

FileCure can scan through your registry for all sorts of files. This includes unknown email attachments, archived files, audio items, documents, internet downloads, graphics, videos—pretty much anything! You can even look for specific file extensions that you define yourself.

Fast and Efficient Scanning

The scanning process is quite fast! Of course, the speed depends on how many files you have stored on your disk. The good news is that it doesn’t use up much CPU or memory at all. So you won't even notice it's running while you're doing other things on your computer.

Find and Fix Problems

Once the scanning is done, FileCure will show you how many issues it found with your file extensions. You can choose to fix any registry issues or ignore them if you prefer. Plus, it gives you a list of utilities needed to run certain programs and valid extensions for your files.

Track Changes

You can easily view recent changes made to file associations in FileCure. There's also an Ignore list showing all the previously detected extensions and a History panel that details all repairs and associations performed by the tool.

Customizable Features

A cool feature of FileCure is that it lets you control which application opens each file type. You can even schedule scans for specific times that work best for you!

User-Friendly Settings

If you're looking to customize things further, FileCure allows you to add a “Scan With FileCure” option to the context menu and set it to run at Windows startup. It’s handy for handling unknown extensions and “Open With” requests.
