FileTaxi
FileTaxi is a handy little app that works great with peer-to-peer (P2P) clients. Its main job is to help reduce the upload load by moving downloaded files out of the shared folder. This is super useful because, in P2P clients like eMule, there's a simple rule: to get data, you need to share data. So, if you clear out the shared folder every time a new file comes in, you’ll only be sharing files that are currently downloading.
How FileTaxi Works
If you’re curious about how this works, there’s a note from the online documentation at www.emule-project.net. It says: "To remove a share you must move the files out of your incoming or folders marked as shared..." This is where FileTaxi shines. It keeps an eye on your shared folder and will immediately remove any files as soon as they show up.
