Flynn is kicking off a cool concept inspired by the movie Tron. I\u2019ve always found myself juggling between being a geek and unleashing my creative side. Plus, you know how friends can be\u2014they ask you to 'show me something cool' all the time!

We already have some awesome stuff like XMonad and all that terminal magic. So, why not play around with our roots in the command line? I thought it would be fun to create something that feels like a command line but is still easy to use. Watching Tron really got my creative juices flowing and made me think about how fun it would be to have an OS that looks like it came straight out of Hollywood!

I\u2019ve started working on this theme, but I could really use some help to bring it to life. The style is pretty simple, but there are still some parts where I\u2019m scratching my head.

How to Change Your Desktop Background

If you want to try out the Flynn theme, here\u2019s how:

• Right-click on your desktop and select Change Desktop Background.


• Click on the first tab: Theme.


• Drag and drop the theme's archive into the Appearance Preferences window.


• If everything goes well, you\u2019ll see a confirmation message! Just click on it to activate your new theme.

What is GNOME?

GNOME is all about creating a complete desktop environment using free software. This means building a user-friendly interface that sits above your operating system. They focus on making software development frameworks, picking apps for the desktop, and improving stuff like application launching and file handling.

A Bit of History

GNOME, which used to stand for GNU Network Object Model Environment (but we don\u2019t really use that name anymore), puts a big emphasis on simplicity and usability. They want things to work without any hassle! You can find GNOME being used with lots of Unix-like systems, especially Linux, and even as part of Java Desktop System in Solaris.
