What is FS Icons FOR LINUX?

FS Icons

FS Icons is a cool icon theme that gives your Linux workspace a fresh and modern look. Whether you’re using GNOME or KDE, this theme has got you covered! I’m working on this icons project with the aim of making everything look nicer for our beloved Tux. If you have any requests for more icons, just drop me a comment!

Compatible Icon Themes

To get the best out of FS Icons, make sure you have the right icon themes installed. Here are some combinations that work well:

• Gnome


• Humanity


• Humanity Dark


• Ubuntu Mono Dark


• Ubuntu Mono Light


• Oxygen

How to Install FS Icons

Ready to give it a try? Follow these simple steps:

1. First, extract the zip file anywhere on your computer.


2. Next, extract all the files from the tar.gz file that you got from the zip.


3. If you're using GNOME:
   - Go to your personal folder and enable viewing hidden files. Move the folders from extraction into the ".icons" directory (you might need to create this if it doesn’t exist).


4. If you're using KDE:
   - Again, go to your personal folder and enable viewing hidden files. Then head over to .kde/share/icons and move those folders in there.


5. If you want it available for everyone:
   - Move those folders as root into /usr/share/icons.


6. Finally, open up your icon theme manager and pick the FS Icons style that suits your workspace best!
