How It's Built

This software is written entirely in Perl and needs several Perl modules to run smoothly. These include File::Which for file handling; Text::Template for text processing; LWP for web requests; UNIVERSAL::require for loading modules dynamically; Net::IP for IP address handling; and XML::TreePP for XML parsing.

Required Modules

You’ll also need the Compress::Zlib module to compress messages. The HTTP::Daemon module sets up the web interface while IO::Socket::SSL helps with HTTPS protocol support. Plus there are Proc::PID::File and Proc::Daemon modules for running it in daemon mode.

Printer Detection & Hardware Inventory

If you want to detect printers easily or gather hardware inventory data, you'll need Net::CUPS along with the dmidecode and lspci utilities. This program works perfectly on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
