What is GNOME PPP FOR LINUX?

GNOME PPP FOR LINUX

Gnome PPP is a modem dialup tool designed to seamlessly integrate into the Gnome 2 Desktop Environment. It is very similar to the GPPP dialup utility for Gnome 1 and the KDE equivalent, KPPP.

Features:

  • Easy to use with no need for the creation of connection scripts

  • Designed for Gnome 2 with HIG UI (similar to GPPP, KPPP, and Windows Dun)

  • Auto detection of your modem

  • Connection monitoring

  • Pretty application icon (thanks to Jimmac)

  • Notification area docking

  • Multi-lingual support

  • Support for multiple accounts (ISP's)

Requirements:

Wvdial

Since GNOME PPP is a graphical frontend for the excellent wvdial, very little knowledge is needed to set up a dialup connection using this application. It features ease of use and auto-detection of your modem for a hassle-free experience.

This software is distributed under GPL version 2, allowing you to download and use it for free.
